Share the post "Promotion of a postage stamp to mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of Blazhe Koneski"
On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Blazhe Koneski, the great figure in the Macedonian culture, JSC Post of North Macedonian has issued a commemorative postage stamp included in the Annual Postage Stamp Programme of the national postal company.
This event is a part of the National Programme “2021 – A year in honour of Blazhe Koneski” which is held under the auspices of Stevo Pendarovski, the President of the Republic of North Macedonia and the Ministry of Culture, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science. The 100th anniversary of the birth of Koneski was also included in the Calendar of Important Jubilees supported by UNESCO.
At the promotion of the stamp,the President Stevo Pendarovski pointed out that taking care of Macedonian language and its affirmation is not only an obligation we owe to Koneski but also an obligation we owe to ourselves, to our ancestors and to future generations, whereas the protection of the Macedonian language is a duty of all who use and take care of it.
“I am convinced that it will be a challenge for our citizens, especially the philatelists, to add this commemorative postage stamp to their collections. Therefore, I urge you to send at least one letter bearing the stamp with the image of Koneski to someone you miss or someone close to you, so that it could be seen and spread all over the world”, Jani Makraduli, MSc, the Director General of the Post of North Macedonia, said.
Irena Stefoska, the Minister of Culture and Professor Ljudmil Spasov, PhD, the President of the Macedonian Language Council of the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia, held their speeches at the promotion of the stamp emphasizing the importance of the academician Koneski and his work.
The face value of the postage stamp featuring a portrait of Koneski , which is an artwork of the academician Dimitar Kondovski, is 72 denars. It was issued in 6000 copies and can be found in the Philatelic Bureau at the Main Postal Traffic Center Skopje 2.
